Environmental Compliance

SPCC Plans: E Sciences personnel have completed numerous SPCC Plans for diverse facilities such as power plants, airport terminals, fertilizer manufacturers, pump stations, fire stations, mines and corrugated paper box plants. The primary purpose of a SPCC plan is to prevent the discharge of oil into navigable waters (as defined in 40 CFR 112 and applicable case law) of the United States. E Sciences’ engineers are familiar with the SPCC rules and can help tailor each plan to the specific nature of the facility to minimize unnecessary costs while meeting the requirements of the rule. In several cases, we have modified the SPCC templates to incorporate local area requirements/forms for reporting spills and other storage tank compliance requirements in order to have a simplified training/response plan for the facilities.

Compliance Audits: E Sciences can provide environmental compliance audits, training, regulatory assistance, permitting and licensing, and storage tank compliance. We have conducted compliance audits on industrial and commercial facilities and have provided recommendations for process improvements to reduce costs, meet regulatory requirements and incorporate sustainable business practices.

Federal Funding Compliance: Many of our clients seek federal funding for projects that will enhance the quality of life and improve the infrastructure of our communities. E Sciences provides environmental assessments for government, nonprofit and other entities seeking to comply with NEPA for federally funded projects. NEPA requires that certain projects receiving federal funding conduct and document a review of the potential effects of those projects on environmental resources. These services can be simple or complex depending on the nature of the site. In situations where repeated potential impacts have been identified (such as impacts to floodplains), we have implemented area wide compliance strategies to be referenced in future studies to avoid the need for future multiple environmental assessments. This creative approach has reduced project times for our clients by months and allowed them to obtain a release of funds in a timely manner. E Sciences staff has worked with several agencies that have funded projects; these include HUD, FHA, HRSA, BOP, FEMA and Department of Homeland Security.
