Fort Lauderdale Positions

Project Ecologist/Biologist

E Sciences, Incorporated has an immediate opening for an experienced environmental consultant in our Fort Lauderdale, FL office. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience as an environmental consultant in Florida, preferably with experience in transportation projects (both PD&E studies and design permitting).  Strong written and oral communication skills required.

Responsibilities:

  • Jurisdictional wetland delineations
  • Local/state/federal wetland permitting
  • Project management
  • FDOT PD&E studies
  • Protected species assessment and permitting
  • Organize and conduct fieldwork activities for wetlands and listed species surveys
  • Tree inventories

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 Years of Experience working as an environmental consultant
  • B.S. Degree in one of the natural sciences from an accredited college or university
  • Position requires a high level of coordination and interaction with other team members, project professionals, and local, state and federal regulatory personnel
  • Physically able to travel and conduct field work on various project sites and meet with clients and occasionally assist in our other Florida office locations
  • Must have a working knowledge of wetland science, flora/fauna and ecosystems of Florida
  • Authorized Gopher Tortoise Agent a plus

Orlando Positions

Project Water Resources Engineer

E Sciences, Incorporated has an immediate opening for a Project Water Resources Engineer in our Orlando, FL office. The candidate for this position would be responsible for project management; stormwater management; drainage design; hydrologic, hydraulic and water quality modeling; and environmental permitting in accordance with FDOT, water management districts, and local municipality standards.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in a Civil/Environmental engineering discipline
  • 5 to 10 years work experience within the field of civil/environmental engineering specializing in water resources design specific to municipal stormwater improvements and roadway projects in Florida
  • Good written and oral communication skills with clients, co-workers, and regulators
  • Strong organizational skills and team building capabilities
  • Strong project management skills, including management of large continuing services contracts with multiple teams and work orders
  • Strong computer skills, MS Office products, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and familiarity with GIS
  • Working knowledge of ICPR, HEC-HMS, and/or HEC-RAS
  • A desire to work on hydrologic restoration projects: wetland banks, stream restoration, development of biological BMPs, urban filter marshes, etc.
  • A desire to work on urban stormwater solutions: lake outfall design and retrofits, insolated residential flooding, hydraulic/hydrologic modeling projects, and other flood control and/or water quality improvement projects
  • A desire to work with large-scale and/or small-scale water quality improvement projects including: water quality master plans, needs assessments, water quality models, water quality monitoring, and coordination with stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of the NPDES Program, including MS4 permits and TMDLs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project experience with municipal clients
  • Engineering specifications preparation
  • Construction administration experience
  • Watershed delineation and modeling experience
  • Preparing permit packages for SJRWMD, SFWMD, SWFWMD, FDEP, and USACE
  • Experience with Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems (MS4) Permits and Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDLs)

 

Scheduler

E Sciences, Incorporated has an immediate opening for a Scheduler in our Orlando, FL office. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years of experience and a degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or Business.  Strong written and oral communication skills required.

Responsibilities:

  • Independently develops new project schedules for moderately complex projects using scheduling software
  • Maintains project schedule including progress updates
  • Revises forecasts and evaluates impact of delay
  • Communicates status of schedule and key risk areas to members of project management team
  • Performs schedule risk analysis, including quantitative risk analysis
  • Performs schedule analysis to include critical activities, risk areas, key milestones and significant changes to schedule.
  • Develops “what if” scenarios to explore alternate sequencing in order to mitigate or avoid schedule delays
  • Performs claims related analysis using contractor claims, delay cost estimates, time impacts, etc.
  • Prepares reporting from schedules including EVA analysis, integration of cost and schedule
  • Preforms contemporaneous schedule analysis
  • Performs detailed review of contractor schedule submittals, including baseline and progress updates
  • Researches project documentation relating to claim data, including project correspondence and inspection diaries
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Biddability Reviewer

E Sciences, Incorporated has an immediate opening for a Biddability Reviewer in our Orlando, FL office. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years of experience and a degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or Business.  Strong written and oral communication skills required.

Responsibilities:

  • Reviews plans and pay items for Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) projects
  • Understands the Basis of Estimate Manual (BOE) and applies it to FDOT projects
  • Prepares comments related to the review of plans and pay items
  • Understands the FDOT specifications process and how specification and pay items work together on projects
  • Completes other duties as assigned
