South Florida Positions

Environmental Scientist/Field Technician: Urban Forestry

E Sciences is seeking a staff scientist or environmental field technician with zero to two years of experience to work in the South Florida area supporting our Miami and Fort Lauderdale offices. The successful candidate will know how to identify trees typically found in South Florida, including native, landscape and invasive trees, and understand tree biology and tree maintenance practices.  Ideal candidates will have experience with using GPS and GIS and be a certified arborist and/or certified landscape inspector.  

Responsibilities: 

  • Perform field work on a variety of project sites, in hot and humid conditions  
  • Conduct tree assessments surveys and inventories
  • Generate detailed and accurate field inspection reports 
  • Prepare GIS maps 

 Requirements: 

  • 0-2 Years of experience
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Occasional travel

Staff Scientist – NEPA Specialist 

E Sciences, Incorporated, has an immediate opening for an experienced Staff NEPA Specialist with two to six years of experience as an environmental consultant or agency staff person for our South Florida offices located in Miami and Fort Lauderdale. Successful candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in a biological science, planning or a related field.  The ideal candidate should have the following: 

  • Experience reviewing transportation plans for potential environmental impacts 
  • Knowledge of the FDOT PD&E process, including the use of ETDM 
  • Strong written and oral communication skills 
  • Ability to work independently and with a team 
  • Strong organizational skills 
  • Ability to travel on occasion 
  • Working knowledge of wetland and upland science, flora/fauna and ecosystems of Florida

Staff/Project Environmental Professional

Sciences, Incorporated has wonderful opportunity for a scientist in our Fort Lauderdale office. The ideal candidate will have 1 to 4 years of environmental and contamination experience in Florida.   

Responsibilities: 

  • Conducting Phase I/II ESAs 
  • Organizing and conducting soil/groundwater/sampling events, inspections and other field activities
  • Authoring technical reports
  • Creating figures, maps and tables

GIS Technician – Entry Level

E Sciences, an Engineering, Environmental and Ecological consulting firm is seeking and entry level GIS Technician to join the Fort Lauderdale team. This is a great position for an organized, energetic person.  Requirements include the ability to manage GIS data from multiple sources using the ESRI ArcGIS, figure production, and database management. Prefer GIS experience/interest in the environmental sciences, landscape architecture, land planning, civil engineering, and/or surveying disciplines. Focus is on a specific project which entails mapping the stormwater drainage network for an E Sciences’ client. Anticipated workload would be 80% GIS and 20% assisting in other disciplines including field work and report writing. Part time and full time options available.

Preferred Candidate Skills, Experience, and Characteristics:

  • Experience using ESRI products with experience georeferencing and digitizing a plus.

E Sciences, Incorporated has an immediate opening for an experienced environmental consultant in our south Florida offices.  The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of relevant experience in Florida, preferably as a consultant or agency staff person with experience in wetland delineation, mitigation design, mitigation plan development and environmental permitting.  Strong written and oral communication skills required. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Jurisdictional wetland delineations 
  • Local/state/federal wetland permitting 
  • Wetland mitigation planning and development
  • Mitigation monitoring and maintenance planning
  • Protected species assessment and permitting
