South Florida Positions

Environmental Scientist/Field Technician: Urban Forestry

E Sciences is seeking a staff scientist or environmental field technician with zero to two years of experience to work in the South Florida area supporting our Miami and Fort Lauderdale offices. The successful candidate will know how to identify trees typically found in South Florida, including native, landscape and invasive trees, and understand tree biology and tree maintenance practices.  Ideal candidates will have experience with using GPS and GIS and be a certified arborist and/or certified landscape inspector.  

Responsibilities: 

  • Perform field work on a variety of project sites, in hot and humid conditions  
  • Conduct tree assessments surveys and inventories
  • Generate detailed and accurate field inspection reports 
  • Prepare GIS maps 

 Requirements: 

  • 0-2 Years of experience

Field Inspector/Technician

E Sciences is seeking an environmental field technician with zero to two years of experience to work in the South Florida area supporting our Miami and Fort Lauderdale offices. The successful candidate will have a positive attitude and the ability to work long days outdoors. An understanding of South Florida native and invasive/nuisance vegetation and stormwater management is a plus. Ideal candidates will have experience with erosion and sediment control, transportation plan review, and field inspections.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform field work on a variety of project sites, in hot and humid conditions, wetlands, and areas with rugged terrain and the potential for contact with wildlife.
  • Generate detailed and accurate field inspection reports.

Requirements:

  • Candidate must have excellent written and oral communication skills.

Staff Scientist – NEPA Specialist 

E Sciences, Incorporated, has an immediate opening for an experienced Staff NEPA Specialist with two to six years of experience as an environmental consultant or agency staff person for our South Florida offices located in Miami and Fort Lauderdale. Successful candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in a biological science, planning or a related field.  The ideal candidate should have the following: 

  • Experience reviewing transportation plans for potential environmental impacts 
  • Knowledge of the FDOT PD&E process, including the use of ETDM 
  • Strong written and oral communication skills 
  • Ability to work independently and with a team 
  • Strong organizational skills

Staff/Project Environmental Professional

E Sciences, Incorporated has a wonderful opportunity for a scientist in our Fort Lauderdale office. The ideal candidate will have 1 to 4 years of environmental and contamination experience in Florida.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting team of engineers and scientists on environmental projects
  • Coordinating projects or tasks
  • Organizing and conducting field work (mainly soil/groundwater/sampling activities)

GIS Analyst

E Sciences, an Engineering, Environmental, and Ecological consulting firm is seeking a full-time GIS Technician to work in the Fort Lauderdale office. This is a great position for an organized, energetic person. We require a technically strong and innovative individual who has 2-5 years’ experience working with GIS, as well as strong communication and writing skills. Requirements include georeferencing experience and the ability to manage GIS data from multiple sources using the ESRI ArcGIS, figure production, and database management. Having GIS experience in the environmental sciences, land planning, civil engineering, and/or surveying disciplines is preferred. Focus is on accurately georeferencing and developing attribute tables from engineering plans. Additional responsibilities include producing maps, site plans, and detail sheets. Anticipated workload would be 80% GIS and 20% assisting in other disciplines including field work and report writing.

Preferred Candidate Skills, Experience, and Characteristics:
• Understanding importance of producing accurate data
• Documented experience georeferencing and digitizing features using ESRI products
• Documented experience developing attribute tables
• Ability to multitask and prioritize work
• Minimum 2 years professional experience using ESRI’s ArcGIS suite of software
• Strong geospatial data collection and documentation skills

E Sciences, Incorporated has an immediate opening for an experienced environmental consultant in our south Florida offices.  The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of relevant experience in Florida, preferably as a consultant or agency staff person with experience in wetland delineation, mitigation design, mitigation plan development and environmental permitting.  Strong written and oral communication skills required.

  • Jurisdictional wetland delineations 
  • Local/state/federal wetland permitting 
  • Wetland mitigation planning and development 
  • Mitigation monitoring and maintenance planning
