South Florida Positions

Staff/Project Water Resource Engineer

E Sciences, Incorporated has an immediate opening in our Miami office for a Staff or Project Water Resources Engineer to support upcoming mitigation site and stormwater retrofit / drainage system design projects. The candidate for this position would be responsible for stormwater management and drainage design plans, reports, and permitting; hydrologic, hydraulic and water quality modeling; NPDES and TMDL permit implementation support and environmental permitting in accordance with FDOT, water management districts, and local municipality standards. This position will work closely with a dynamic multidisciplinary team to support statewide projects for state agency, municipal, mining, and private sector clients.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Civil/Environmental engineering discipline;
  • Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering exam
  • At least 4 years work experience within the field of civil/environmental engineering specializing in water resources design specific to municipal stormwater improvements in Florida;
  • Requires AutoCAD and plan development experience, Autodesk Civil 3D experience preferred;
  • Requires strong computer skills, MS Office products, and familiarity with ArcGIS;
  • Experience with Miami-Dade County permitting and regulations
  • Preparing permit packages for local, SJRWMD, SFWMD, SWFWMD, FDEP, and USACE agencies
  • A desire to work on challenging hydrologic restoration projects: wetland restoration, development of biological BMPs, urban filter marshes, and challenging sea level rise projects (SLR), etc;
  • A desire to work on innovative and challenging urban stormwater solutions: stormwater retrofits, green infrastructure, isolated residential flooding, hydraulic/hydrologic modeling projects, SLR, and other flood control and/or water quality improvement projects;
  • A desire to work with large-scale and/or small-scale water quality projects including water quality master plans, feasibility studies, permitting assessments, water quality models, water quality monitoring, and coordination with stakeholders.
  • Good written and oral communication skills with clients, co-workers, and regulators;
  • Strong organizational skills;

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Florida Professional Engineer
  • Project experience with municipal clients
  • Engineering specifications preparation
  • Experience inspecting stages of construction at active jobsites
  • Watershed delineation and modeling experience

Field Technician

E Sciences is seeking a field technician with 2+ years of experience to work in the Central Florida area.  The right candidate will have experience with the following tasks:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform field work on a variety of project sites, in hot and humid conditions, wetlands, areas with rugged terrain and the potential for contact with wildlife.
  • Engage in strenuous physical labor including; lifting, pulling, and pushing heavy objects.
  • Document and report field events: generating detailed and accurate field inspection reports.
  • Monitoring well installation oversight
  • Groundwater and surface water monitoring
  • Soil, Water, and Soil-Vapor Sampling Advance soil borings via hand auger methods to collect soil and groundwater samples
